BURUDE FALLS
I can say this is one of the dangerous falls of Uttara Kannada District. The journey goes through the dense forests of Siddapura Taluk. It is suggested not to take kids if you plan to go. So many people died here before.
We started from Sagara on a fine morning at 9 AM. Just 2 hours drive took us to a village, where the trek starts. We parked our car and started heading down. You will find a small cottage, and here the trek begins. Remember, you need to climb down a steep hill.
The distance is just 2-3KM's , but the steep is too shallow. The first phase of the trek could be made by the concrete steps. Then the real struggle begins. As I said earlier, it is too steep, so better not to hold others hands while heading down.
We started heading down, and one of us who knew this place better lead us. I was really shocked to see the steep. At a point of time, it seemed just almost impossible to get down. But the urge to see the falls gave us power and with a strong mind we started climbing down.
Really, it was an amazing experience I have ever had. Though it was tough getting down, we really enjoyed it. However, we managed to get down and it just seemed like the heaven was waiting for us down!!.
We came to the bottom of the falls. Yeah! We did it. The joy of completing a task which we thought of impossible cannot be explained. The roaring sound of the gigantic falls was hitting our ears. As it was just the end of the rainy season, there was much water, which added a cup more beauty for the falls.
We took a rest for a while. Some of us got busy in taking pictures and three of us started heading to the bottom of the falls. But due to the heavy flow, we couldn't do that.
They were still busy in taking photos, and we went to the other end of the falls. There you could see the entire surrounding covered by the greenery. The second step of Burude falls could be found here. It was impossible to get down, so we came back. After spending some valuable time, we started climbing up. It wasn't much difficult to climb up.
It took us more than half an hour to climb down. But to climb up, it just took us a few couple of minutes. Carry enough water and some snacks with you. We were completely exhausted, but the mesmerising memories took us back home alive!!.
