TALASI ABBI FALLS

We started from Udupi hoping to see the Kunchikal falls, which is the least explored falls of India. We didn't have any idea about the whereabouts of falls. when we reached Mastikatte, local people told us that entry is prohibited since many years. There were 2 reasons for the prohibition of the entry,
1) This falls comes under Varahi Hydro-electric project.
2) There are many Naxalites in that area.

But locals told us to visit Talasi Abbi falls which was just 8 KM's drive from Mastikatte village. With a dissatisfied face we started towards Talasi Abbi falls.

Roads were covered by thick green forests. We took a left diversion from Yeduru village after riding for 6 KM's. I was happy to find very less people there, just because we could enjoy our time for a while without any disturbance. The road wasn't confusing us. It's a straight road, we took another left diversion after seeing a sign board.

It was 1 KM's from here and only bikes can go till the end as the road is too narrow to take a car. The journey ends after a nice bumpy ride. We could hear the sound from a little far distance. And this sound made us clear that it wasn't a small one.

Finally, we were at the top and for god's sake, this falls failed to disappoint us!!. It was afternoon and the weather was still cool. With no time we started heading down. It didn't take us much time to climb down. It's a seasonal falls and better to visit soon after the monsoon.

We were happy to find no people there except us. The thick forests of western ghats enhances the beauty of the falls. We found a place to swim, and spent around an hour. The time we spent was worth of it.

We started our return journey. On our return journey we visited Chandikeshwari temple and Balebare falls.
