THE MAYURAVANA HOMESTAY                                  Situated in the foothills of the Chandradrona hill station and surrounded by the coffee estates, the two day stay gave us a heavenly experience. It is situated in the village named Mallenahalli which is 12 Km's from Chikkamagaluru town. The village itself has many myths and stories behind it. The host told that the Giris (hills, particularly mullayanagiri, Bababudangiri, Seetalayyanagiri and Deviramana betta) gives birth to many water source which runs through their village, and that medicinal powers of the water are absorbed in the land. So it is a kind of spiritual place. And he also told that no one dies of snakebite in that village. It was evening when we reached there, we were welcomed by a warm coffee and some homemade snacks. Later after freshen up , the host took us for a estate walk. The estate is spread over 12 acr...

TALASI ABBI FALLS We started from Udupi hoping to see the Kunchikal falls, which is the least explored falls of India. We didn't have any idea about the whereabouts of falls. when we reached Mastikatte, local people told us that entry is prohibited since many years. There were 2 reasons for the prohibition of the entry, 1) This falls comes under Varahi Hydro-electric project. 2) There are many Naxalites in that area. But locals told us to visit Talasi Abbi falls which was just 8 KM's drive from Mastikatte village. With a dissatisfied face we started towards Talasi Abbi falls. Roads were covered by thick green forests. We took a left diversion from Yeduru village after riding for 6 KM's. I was happy to find very less people there, just because we could enjoy our time for a while without any disturbance. The road wasn't confusing us. It's a straight road, we took another left diversion after seeing a sign board. It was 1 KM's fro...

TONDLE FALLS The mesmerising seasonal waterfall is situated inside the Mookambika reserve forests. The waterfall gives its best in rainy season, it is almost unexplored as this is a seasonal waterfall.we got information from our friend and planned a go for it. The plan was to visit Toodali waterfalls and then go to Tondle falls. But due to the heavy rain in Byndoor we stopped at Byndoor for hours together and canceled our plan of visiting Toodali falls. It was 11 in the morning when we left Byndoor. we were a bit disappointed because of cancellation of Toodali (The trekking to this falls is considered difficult). It took us just half an hour to reach a village named Tondle. We asked the help of the villagers to get the route guide. It is situated at a distance of 2 KM's from the main road. We took a left diversion from the main road...
