JOG FALLS

I had visited jog falls many times but my recent visit with my best friends was much memorable. There is a song in Kannada "ಮಾನವನಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಏನ್ ಏನ್ ಕಂಡಿ! ಸಾಯೋದ್ರೊಳಗೆ ನೋಡು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಜೋಗದ್ ಗುಂಡಿ" which means ' What have you seen in your life when you havent seen the Jog falls yet '.  Yeah! I can say Your life is incomplete unless you visit jog falls before you die. It is situated in the heart of the malenadu district shivamogga. The falls is created by the holy river Sharavathi which takes birth in Ambutheertha near konanduru.

The falls kisses the bottom from a height of 253 meters (830 feet). The quantity of flow of water changes from season to season. It is the second highest waterfall in India and is ranked 13th among the world. The flow of water will be more in the monsoon season however the construction of the Linganamakki dam has restricted the flow. You can have a spectacular view when the gates of the dam are opened. However these gates are not opened occasionally. There are number of view points from where you can have a elegant view of the falls. The water flows down in four channels namely Raja, Rani, Roarer and Rocket. Raja means king and Rani means queen. Raja hits the ground from the top and the Rani makes its own way from the middle. You have to reach top to know how Rani flows. Roarer makes more noise among the four and the Rocket flows down like a jet. The waterfall is covered by the evergreen forests  of  westernghats. Its a heaven for nature lovers. Visitors from all over the world do visits here.
Our journey to jog falls was well planned in advance. We were there by around 11 o clock. Soon after reaching there we started heading towards base.  It took us half an hour to reach the down .wow! I was awestruck to see the scenic view from there. The path is well made by the steps till down. We were a bit tired and took some rest there. After sometimes we started our journey back. I swear, it took us 1 and a half hour to come back onto the top!!. We were fully tired, one of our teammate Mahendra was almost dead. After reaching the top we had some food and started our ride towards the British Bungalow.

It is just a 3 km's ride from the jog falls. British Bungalow is situated at the top of the waterfalls. You can have a top view of the waterfalls from there. It is too dangerous to take small children with you. Finally we were there. The top is filled with the gigantic rocks. We sat on a big rock and usefully wasted our time peacefully 😂. The roaring sound of the Roarer was hitting our ears. We saw how Rani makes her own way in the middle. The day was well spent with my buddies #cv and #mahendra. After spending some more time we headed back to our home.
