MADIKERI DAY 2

Our second day plan was to visit Mallalli falls. We had kept almost the whole day to spend in the Mallalli falls. Before visiting I thought it was a bad idea to be there in a single place for a whole day. Anyhow we started to there by morning 9 after having our breakfast.

The 50 KM's journey to Mallalli falls from Kushalnagar via Somavarpet was cherishing. The western ghats of Coorg was welcoming us. Finally we were there at 11:30. We were astonished to see the view from the top. The milky falls was flowing down by craving the rocks. We parked our vehicle and started towards down.

Mallalli falls is formed by the river Kumaradara which flows in the Pushpagiri mountains. The 200 meters falls plunges down in two slopes. The waterfalls is hidden inside the lush green forests of Puahpagiri mountains. It's a must place to visit if you are a travel freak. You have steps made till down to get into this enormous place.

Putting our backpacks on, we started heading down. It took us an hour to get down (literally it won't take that much). We were busy in taking photos so it took us an hour. The formation of the falls on the rocks is mindblowing . The cool breeze was hitting us. Some of my friends started taking photos and some of us went to swim(though we don't know how to swim, we call playing in water as swimming, isn't it!?). Remember it is highly recommended not to swim there. It is very dangerous spot. As it was post mansoon the rocks weren't much slippery. Somehow making our own way inside the rocks we went to the bottom. Wow! The water was hitting us so hard. The force of the water made us to step back as soon as Possible. But the thing we did was, just renter, renter, reenter that's it!.

After being there on the 1st slope of the falls, our eyes went towards the 2nd slope. We 3 stated towards down. As i told earlier you have well paths made till down (for first path). But if you want to go to second slope you have to jump in and out of the rocks. Remember it is bit difficult to go down.

We had a refreshing experience being down there. It was calm. This place is smaller compared to the first slope. It was fun being there. It was late so we started to climb up.

With the empty stomach, tired body it was hard to climb up. Like a lazy Tom we took an hour to climb up. There is only one shop available, and we ate Chitranna(lemon rice) which we had ordered before going down. Keeping the unforgettable memories on our head we started our journey towards homestay in jagate village.

The Homestay is located in the dense forests. As it was late night when we reached there, we weren't able to see the beauty of the nature. We had a cherishing morning dose when we got up. The homestay is situated in a countryside where there are only a couple of houses. You have to travel 4 KM's if you want to catch a bus from there. The owner takes utmost care of you. You have many places around to hike. The things you can do around are trekking, sightseeing, visiting waterfalls etc.. The name of the homestay itself says 'NATURE TREKK homestay'
